Following these routes\u2014which weave across the mid-mountain slopes between the peaks and the villages\u2014we traverse 300 kilometers around this unique mountain. We walk along old muleteer tracks and forestry roads\u2014traditional paths used by the various cultures that settled in the foothills throughout their time in the Sierra.\n\nThis circular trail rings the entire Sierra Nevada massif at an average elevation of 1,800 to 2,000 meters. It crosses ridges and ravines, forests and meadows that serve as habitats for numerous plant and animal species, and where traces of past agricultural and livestock farming activities can still be found. All of this makes the journey an unforgettable experience.\n\nThe section from B\u00e9rchules to Valor constitutes Stage 8 (or the passage through Fuente del Espino\/B\u00e9rchules).
