Before the square was built, the village was cut in two by a ravine. Access was provided by a little footpath that ran directly below, known as the \u201cVere\u00edca de Misa\u201d. It was given this name because it was the footpath used by locals to take part in religious activities. <\/p>\n\n
When the square was built, the locals dubbed it the \u201cbullring\u201d, as it was used for bullfighting and similar activities during the festival of San Marco and San Isidro and the festival of San Pantal\u00e9on.
