“Del Mar al Cielo” (From Sea to Sky) is a work written in 1880 by Antonio Rubio Gómez that chronicles the adventure of a group of people from Almería who undertook an expedition to climb the summit of Mulhacén, starting from Almería itself. The various stages of the journey offer a chance to discover this unique ascent from the lands of Almería to the peak of Mulhacén, retracing the 19th-century expedition recounted by Rubio and experiencing much of what those mountain pioneers sought and found along their route. The fourth stage runs from Plaza Obispo Peinado in Bérchules to Trevélez, passing through Alcútar and Juviles.
