During the Mozarabic period, the abundance of water meant that there was a fuente (fountain), for every 20 houses. This particular example consists of a small fountain set against a terrace wall, with a stone basin and base. It is located at the top of the road providing access to the old Era de La Platera threshing floor, which gives the fountain its name. It has seven spigots, which provide a genuine feast for the eyes and ears when water is flowing through them in abundance during the summer months.
